Christmas Show!

One of my favorite recitals for dance is the Christmas Show. It is so much fun and entertaining. Lexie and Masi were in 3 numbers each and my niece Ady was in 2. They all did such a great job and best of all had a ton of fun!!!
Lexie and Masi in their "Hot Chocolate" costume.Love the "tude".
The girls with Ady in their ballet costumes.
Masi and Ady being silly. I don't know where Masi could get it from???
Lexie chatting it up with her friend, Analysse.
My camera wasn't working so I didn't get any pictures of the girls performing. I was soooo bummed! But I stole these few from Bridgette. Her daughter, Iailey, is right next to Lexie on the right. Masi is to the left in a couple.

Tyke

Last night as I was tucking Tyke in he was telling me all about his friends at school.

Tyke: Mom, I have a best friend at school and her name is Hannah.
Me: Oh really? That's nice. Are you nice to her?
Tyke: Yes. Her has a beautiful necklace.
Me: Oooh! A beautiful necklace, huh? That's cool. What about so and so? Do you like her?
Tyke: No! Her's mean to me and everybody.
Me: Really? Well, that's not good. We should be nice to our friends. If you aren't then other kids won't want to play with you. So, I hope you're not pestering or being mean to your friends at school.

See, we have to have this talk with Tyke. He's a bit, ahem, wild.

Tyke: Yeah. And so and so has to go to the yellow chair for time out! Her is naughty!
Me: *thinking, 'I'm sure you've been there a time or two buddy'* Have you ever had to go to the yellow chair?
Tyke: NO!
Me: So, you have lots of friends and you've never had to go to time out?
Tyke: Yes! *nodding matter of fact* Because I'm nice to people!

Lexie

Lexie had a dentist appointment today. She had to have 1 tooth pulled to make room for adult teeth, 1 cavity to be filled, and 2 sealants. Needless to say she was quite numb in the entire mouth, nose, and chin regend. On the way home I reminded her to not bite her cheek or lips and she responds by saying, "yeah cuz I might bite all the way through the skin and not feel it. And even my nose is numb! If I needed to pick it I wouldn't even be able to feel it."

Ew!!!!!!! And just for the record, Lexie is not a nose picker so I have NO IDEA where that one came from...??? She is sooo funny!

Tyke and Owen

Tyke made me a Christmas ornament at school today. He was so excited to show me the gift wrapped up nicely and put in a little Christmas Bag. He ran up to me and said, "Mom! I made you a snowball!!" Owen, his little buddy, said to Tyke, "Tyke! You aren't supposed to tell her what you made! It's a present." Tyke replies, "I didn't tell her it was glass. Mom, I didn't tell you it was glass, huh?" Chuckling I simply said, "Nope. You didn't tell me it was a glass snowball."

Later on in the car:

Tyke and Owen both take their ornaments out of their bags. Owen says to me, "Um, Kissy (he can't say my name and I think it's soooo cute that he calls me 'Kissy'), you wanna see my present to my mom?" Tyke, holding his ornament up, says, "yeah, Mom. Look at Owens but NOT mine. You can't see mine until Christmas!!" Hahaha! Never mind, they are the exact same only with their own pictures on the front. I love the innocents!

Just a Fun Day

The day started out with me calling Lori on my way home from dropping Max off at the groomers. Sweet Tayson was less than a week old and I needed my fix. I asked what she was doing and she said that her and Richard were on their way to go get some lunch. Long story short: I headed straight to her house so I could swipe up the baby and get some snuggles in. I insisted that they needed some alone time to just enjoy each others company, without children. Hee hee. Lori and Richard were both a bit nervous to leave their newborn. Richard even went so far to say, "now don't beat him"!!! I'm glad he said that though, seeing that I beat my children from day one. ;o) I drove home and let me just tell you, all of my OLD kids were at school so I got to spoil Tayson the entire time all by myself!!!! I snuggled, kissed, and sniffed the WHOLE time. Yes, it was only for an hour, but it was an hour of pure bliss. :o) Later in the early evening I decided it would be fun for us to make a popcorn garland for the kids' Christmas Tree. What a mess!!! Masi was totally in to it. Lexie was totally in to eating it. And Tyke was not in to it at all. The garland turned out super cute!

Catch Up Time...Again!

Ok. So, I am going to try and catch up before this year ends. I'm hoping to post something everyday. Wish me luck!!!!

My Little Sass Pot

On Thanksgiving the 4 girl cousins, Lexie (9), Kylie (9), Masi (7), and Ady (5), were playing in a homemade fort downstairs. Ady is crying, or shall I say wailing. Lori goes to investigate. After a minute she comes upstairs with Ady and says, "It's fine, Ady, we will just leave. So, I pipe in, "why?! What's going on?

Lori: Ady is crying in the corner while Lexie, Masi, and Kylie are in the fort. I ask Ady why she isn't playing in the fort and she said because Lexie told her no. So, I asked Lexie if Ady could come in and she said, "No. Ady is too little."

WHAT!?! I mean the least she could do is act like a good girl when an adult confronts her naughtiness!!!!!

So, I called the girls up to see what the h&!! is going on. Zero toleration for meanness at my house.

Me: Masi, tell me what happened.
Masi: So, like Lexie like told me and Ady that we were like too little to play in the fort. So like I asked her if I pppplllleeeeassssee could and she said, "fine". So, then like Ady asked if like she could and Lexie told her no. So, like I went into the fort and Ady went to the corner and like cried her head off.

I look at Lexie.

Me: Lexie?
Lexie: Yeah. That's pretty much what happened.
Me: Nice. How would you like it, Lexie, if they were all in the fort and told you that you couldn't be in there because you are too old?? How would that make you feel? Would that make you feel sad?
Lexie: *head held down in shame* Yes.
Me: You have about 2 seconds to apologize to Ady and BE NICE!!!
Lexie: *throwing her hands in the air and dead serious* MOM! I did say it NICE!!!!

For a brief moment the entire room erupted in laughter but was soon back under control due to the fact I was trying to hold my own composure while reprimanding my child. I had to get her out of the room ASAP before I lost it so I told her to beat it and be nice to everyone. Nice as in BE NICE...not be mean...nicely. Oh that girl!!!

Let's Give Thanks

I LOVE THANKSGIVING!!! This is one of my very most favorite holidays. I love getting together as a family. I love the food. I love starving myself all day long so I can stuff my face. I love the warmth of the house while it's freezing outside. I love the food. I love the kids playing together and remembering how fun it was for me when I was a kid. I love how it's the kick off to the Christmas Season. I love eating sooo much that I totally bloat myself and have to retire to the nearest couch to crash like a beached whale. And did I happen to mention that I LOVE THE FOOD?!

This year Tenae had the turkey smoked and can I just say that this was the best turkey I have ever had in my entire life?! It was so tender and moist. Oh my! It was goooooood.
She's a crazy carnivore. Ha!
The boy table.
Mom getting into the carving of the turkey. Glad it's not me carving. I only like to eat turkey, not carve it. :)
