Ch Ch Check It Out

So I got a new camera for my birthday. Jett and I decided to take some practice shots.

Tyke wanted his blue car in the picture...

...then his red one.

Tyke "webbing" Jett. He thinks he's Spider Man.

"Let me show you how to do the peace sign".

Good Job!
Me "webbing" Jett. Tyke thought that was funny!

We're silly!

Thanks to Cami Ellis for the great advice on what camera to buy! I like it way mucho!

Just DANCE!

Lexie and Masi's favorite pass time is to dress up and dance to the music Lexie downloaded onto her IPOD. We caught some of their moves in action! I personally love the shades the most!!!

Strike a pose!

But Mom, I AM big!

As I was getting the girls ready for school this morning Tyke was busy getting himself ready as well. He informed me that HE was going to school today with Lexie. He strapped his Elmo backpack on and was headed for the door. I told him that he wasn't quite big enough for school yet. He proceeded to tell me, "But, Mom, I AM big! Look at me!!!" He stood up on a stool and stretched his little body as tall as he could! He was sad when we dropped Lexie off and he had to stay in the car. Lexie made him feel better by telling him he can go to school (preschool) next year. "OKAY!!!" Tyke said obviously not knowing how long a year is!

He wanted his card in the picture too.

To My Dad

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!
My dad is the most amazing person. He is the most generous, thoughtful, and selfless person I have ever known in my life! I am so lucky to have him as my father. He has taught me so many things in my life. He has set such a great example for me. He would give the clothes off his back just to help anyone in need. I can only hope to become half the person he is. I love how much he loves my mom. He simply adores her and I swear their love for each other only grows with each passing day. I love how you can see the love he has for her every time he looks at her. I love how his eyes sparkle when he gets excited. I love how he pats the top of his head after he gets done brushing his hair. I love how I inherited his crooked front tooth. I love when he calls me "Kristi Sou". I love how silly he gets around my kids. They can get him to do ANYTHING!!! He becomes a kid again whenever they are around. I love that he turns 29 every year on his birthday. I love how much he loves his mom (my grandma) and the way he talks about her. I love his half smile when I do something really stupid and funny and he's trying not to smile. I love how hardworking he is. I love the tricks he pulls on his two Buddy's, Darnell and Ed. Like when he switched the regular hot tamales for the RED HOT hot tamales when they were playing pool. I laugh just thinking about how giddy he got talking about his plan to do that. I love his laugh. I love hearing stories of his childhood. I love his BBQ steak. I love when he stops by randomly just to say hi. I love how much he loves my children. I love that he and Jett are so close. I love how fired up he gets when Jett plays his tricks on him. I love the tricks he TRIES to pull on Jett but they never really pan out. I love camping with him. I love the trips to Lagoon and Island Park. I love how special he makes me feel on my birthday. I love going 4-wheeling with him. I love going to lunch with him and Jett on Wednesdays. I love that he has a favorite waitress at Butterburrs and all he has to do is point at her and she takes us to our seat right away. I love that he refers to my mom as his"eternal companion". I love that he will babysit his grand babies ONLY if they don't poop. I love that when his grand babies do poop he tells the mom that they have "an odor about them". I love that he has unconditional love for me. I love how he thinks me pulling my eyebrows and lip up with an invisible piece of string is SO FUNNY!!!! I love that his favorite color is red. I love when he and my mom take the GTO for a spin and he totally peels out every time. I love his strength. He is one of my most favorite people in the whole wide world and I love him with all of my heart. Thank you so much, Dad, for being you and I hope you had the greatest birthday EVER!!! I love you.

The Color Blue

I have REALLY been working with Tyke on his colors. He just can't seem to figure them out (I'm beginning to wonder if he has inherited my dad's color blindness...ugh!). Every time we have the color conversation it goes something like this:
Me: Tyke, what color is this (showing him the color green)?
Tyke: Blue!
Me: It's not blue. It's green. What color is this (showing him the color red)?
Tyke: Blue!
Me: It not blue. Look at it very closely...it's red.
We have been having this conversation for quite some time now. Well now he's figured it out.
Me: Tyke, what color is this (showing him something yellow)?
Tyke: NOT BLUE!!!!
Hahahah....well...he is right. It's NOT blue!

You Know You're Getting Old When...

...your daughter thinks you're as old as Abraham Lincoln!!!
So...last Thursday I am driving Lexie and Masi to dance.

Lexie: Mom, what year were you born?

Me: 1978

Lexie: Oh! So, did you know Abraham Lincoln?

Thirty-one-derful!!

Shelby is a very dear friend of mine. We have been friends since we were 5 years old. From the first day we met in Kindergarten we became instant friends. I have so many great memories of growing up with her. Camping as kids is one of my favorite memories, it was so fun! I remember having to sing to our parents to get them to let us have sleepovers (which we had EVERY weekend). From grade school to junior high to high school, I have SO MANY great memories! I am looking forward to making even more in the future. I value her as a friend and hold her very dear in my heart. Happy Birthday, Shelby! Let's make it another great year being thirty-one-derful!
