Fun Times With The Wehrli's

Me and the kids went over to Grandma and Grandpa Simpson's house for some S'mores. Lori and her kids were there too. As we were hanging out the Werhli kids came over to see if our kids could play. Now, let me back up, the Wehrli's and my parents have been neighbors for like 35 years. I grew up playing with the youngest of them, Ben and Rosie. Tina and Toni used to babysit us. They are the oldest twins. Then there was Chris. April came next and she is the same age as Kenny. Then Ben and Rosie. I played with Ben and Rose EVERYDAY in the summertime. Me and Ben are the same age so we usually had the same teachers in school too. Rosie is just one year behind.
The Wehrli's have all branched out now and the only one's that live in Pocatello now is there mom, Nada, who still lives across the street from my parents, and Rosie with her husband Mark and 2 kids McKenzie and Adison. But Tina, April, and Chris came back to Pocatello for a visit. Toni and Ben couldn't make it. It was SO fun to see their kids. When they were over playing with my kids it took me back to my childhood. What great times we had! I love all the memories I have growing up with the Wehrli's.

Let's RACE! I remember having races all the time with Ben and Rosie and the rest of the neighborhood kids. So this was really fun to watch!

Tyke and Hayden decided to go over and do some yard work. Like father, like son, right?
This is Chris's little girl, Bailey. I see a lot of April in her.

I am so glad I got to catch up with my old friends. A lot of their kids I have never met so it was fun to see their families too. The kids all played so good together and we all had fun reminiscing the good ol' days.

New Do's

Lexie and Masi have been begging for me to cut their hair for MONTHS!! Especially Masi. When Lexie was in 1st grade I, finally, gave into her and cut her hair. But it grew back long and beautiful! I have NEVER cut Masi's hair. Just little trims here and there. So, you can just imagine the anxiety I would feel if I cut it!!! Why do we get so attached to our kids hair? Maybe I am a hair farmer at heart...:o) So, anyway, I put it off and put it off. Then to get them off my back I told them we could cut their hair after their dance recital. Low and behold, the very next morning, after the dance recital, Masi came into my bedroom bright and early to let me know that it was time to cut their hair. I was hoping she would forget!!! But I really knew she wouldn't. So, we went to the salon and did some trimming. Or major cutting, rather. :o( It makes me sad, but I see how happy they are and that makes it better. They do look pretty darn cute with their new do's though. When we were done I asked Tyke if he wanted to cut all his hair off too and he said, "No. I don't want you to be sad." Oh how I love that boy!!!

Dance Recital 2009

Lexie and Masi had their Dance Recital June 5 & 6th. They did so good and make me so proud! They were happy to have the dance season end and take a little break. For a minute, that is. Masi was talking about taking summer classes right after the recital was over. We will wait, however, until the fall classes begin. They rehearsed for hours and hours the day of the concert. Tyke came along and was such a trooper. I feel like I can breath now that it's all over. Yay for summer!!!

Carnival of Animals Ballet - Lexie's group were bears and let me tell you she was mortified that she had to wear these costumes!

Stop In The Name of Love. This was Lexie's favorite. She loves to tap!The Grand Finale - Peace

Craziness

School is out and that means life is CRAZYYYY!!! Oh my! This last week has been NUTS and it's not even over yet. Lexie and Masi are preparing for their year end recital. They have had dance every day this week except for Tuesday. And on Tuesday they started gymnastics, which is every Tuesday and Thursday. Today, Friday, they had dress rehearsal from 10 am to 2 pm. They have to be in full dress and make-up. They each do 2 numbers so they have to change in between dances. It sounds like no big deal, but let me tell you IT IS CRAZY!!!! Kudos to Tyke who sat through the long rehearsal. He was ready to go about 10 minutes after we got there. He did pretty good considering he is a 3 year old boy. Tonight is their recital. Then tomorrow we start over. Rehearsal in the morning and afternoon, then their big concert tomorrow night. They perform 2 different dances tomorrow than what they do today. Good thing they love it because that's the only reason we do it. All in all, I love it too (let's be honest *sigh*). But it will be nice when it's over and we can just do the gymnastics thing for awhile. Then in the fall throw ourselves back into the dance madness. Wowza!

Fun Times With the Buddies

Tyke had some buddies come over one afternoon to watch a flick. They all LOVE Pirates of the Caribbean. With the big screen, surround sound, the giant bean bag, and popcorn they were all very pleased. I just love when Tyke has his friends come over. They are so cute!
