Happy 7th Masi!!!

Happy Birthday to Sweet Masi. I cannot believe she is SEVEN!!! It seems like yesterday she came into our lives. She is the sweetest/sassiest little sissy ever! :o)

Grandma and Grandpa Simpson came over the night before the big day to bring a present by. They were going out of town."Yay! Webkins!" She was hoping to get a webkin or two.
Grandpa then pulls out the cash. YES!
Masi really wanted another Baby Alive. This was the present she opened first thing in the morning.
My friend, Trisha Lovett, made these adorable "cake pops" for the party later on that evening. Not only are they cute...they are DELISH!!! They were a hit!

And here's the cake I made. Lovely. Yes, it's out of the box. I'm no Betty Crocker.
Happy Birthday to YOU!
I re-lit the candles so Tyke could blow them out too. :o)

My Masi Top Ten:

1. Her sweetness

2. Her spunk

3. Her tender heart

4. Her silly personality.

5. Her picky-ness about her hair. It has to be perfect. And I mean PERFECT.

6. Her princess sense of style. She is such a diva!

7. I love to watch her at dance practice. She can't stop watching herself in the mirror.

8. Her confidence.

9. Her love for babies.

10. Her zest for life and lighthearted-ness.

Masi is just the sweetest thing ever born. She has always had such a sweetness about her. She loves babies and animals. She is such a love and doesn't like to let people down. She is a hard worker and wants to be the best at everything that she does. I am so lucky to have her as a daughter. She brings so much happiness into our lives everyday. She has such a goofy personality, much like her dads, which I think is so cute. She is so silly and brings so much laughter into our home. I thank God everyday for giving me such a special spirit.

Happy Birthday, Masi. I love you very much! You make me proud everyday.

Love,

Mom

Name Tag

I'm driving the girls to dance today. Masi took a pen and wrote her name on her hand then her foot. I told her to stop writing on her skin. She did.

Later that night.
Masi is in the bath.

Masi: Do you know why I wrote my name on my hand and foot?
Me: No. Why?
Masi: So everyone at dance would know who I am. They would not know because my hair used to be long and now it's short.
Me: *trying not to laugh* Awww...good idea.

And So It Begins...

Let the fun (or chaos, rather) begin! Yesterday was the first day for dance and soccer. What a crazy fall schedule we have. All three kids are playing soccer and the girls are doing dance. This week Lexie and Masi have a choreography clinic that they are attending for 2 days. Lexie did hers Monday and today, then Masi does hers Wednesday and Thursday. Lexie said she had "SO MUCH FUN!!" She made me go in today to watch for a minute. It did look really fun and she did a great job. I wish I would've had my camera on me. Bummer.
Yesterday Masi kicked some serious butt at soccer. Tyke, on the other hand, practiced for 15 minutes (which is half the practice) then was done. This was partially my fault. It was dinnertime and they had not eaten. Apparently, the after school snack of 2 hot dogs (one with a bun and one without) didn't cut it. He's a bit of a hog. :o) We'll see how he does next week.

The Crew
Masi, on the other hand, is camera ready at all times.
Tyke with his team, stretching. Vick Pearson is his coach. This means his best friend, Owen is on his team. Yessss! :o)

Secret Place

Masi: Mom, remember that thing I made in school last year where I wrote numbers all the way to 1,000?
Me: Yes.
Masi: Where is it?
Me: I have no idea. What did you do with it?
Masi: It's gone! I put it in my secret place and now it's gone!
Me: Where is your secret place?
Masi: I don't remember.

Do We Have To Go To School EVERYDAY?

Tyke is taking some time adjusting to his new school at the Montessorri. He's not too sure he wants to go everyday. He has so much fun once he gets there but I think he would much rather stay home with me or even go to Mother Goose where he is comfortable. He misses the girls while they're gone too. He's so used to our summer schedule he doesn't like having them at school all day. Today, after I dropped Lexie and Masi off at school, I was getting ready for work.

Tyke: Mom, do you work today?
Me: Yes. But only while you're at school. I will pick you up as soon as you're done.
Tyke: Oh, I don't have school today.
Me: Oh really? Why's that?
Tyke: Yesterday Miss Amber told me that I don't have school today.
Me: I think she was mistaken because you do.
Tyke: (matter of fact) Nope. She's not. I don't have school today and either does Masi. So go pick her up.

Tyke's First Day of Montessori

Last Wednesday was Tyke's first day of Montessori Preschool. He goes everyday from 11:30 to 2:30. He was really nervous but trying so hard to be excited. We went to visit Grandpa Simpson before school and he took us to lunch. Tyke was wired. I think all his nervous-ness was making him act like a crazy man. He was talking a million words a minutes, nonstop. He was cracking me up. Once we got to the school he was trying to tell me that he wanted to be in Auntie Lori's class. But Lori teaches 4th grade so that wasn't going to work. Miss Amber is his teacher this year and I told him he would really like her. When it came time to drop him off he cried. It broke my heart!! Miss Amber took him and held him. Talk about feeling like the worst mother in the world!!! Lori called me shortly after, though, and told me he quit crying the minute I left. When I told Jett this he said, "Good. He needs to toughen up and get off your hip." Men.

I just know Tyke is going to learn a lot this year and have a great experience. He is such a big boy and I love him so much.
Knocking on the door at the school...he is so CUTE!The Pep Talk

Are You Kidding Me???!!!

Masi: Mom, there is a girl in my class and she has an earring in her tongue.
Me: (getting everyone ready for soccer and dance and NOT really listening.) Oh really?
Masi: Yeah, she has a ring in her tongue. Like, it looks like our earrings but it's through her tongue.
Me: (tuning in) What? Who? Who's this?
Masi: A girl in my class.
Me: She has a tongue ring? *eyes widening, but trying to remain calm and collected*
Masi: Yes. She is six.
Me: Ahem. *trying to stay cool* Well, what do you think about that?
Masi: It's gross. AND it probably really hurt. Even more than getting your ears pierced.
Me: *WHEW!*
