Are Humans like Frogs???

My sister, Lori, had her new baby, Tayson, blessed on Sunday. As we were sitting there during sacrament meeting her son, Hayden, came up to me as I was holding Tayson. Tyke was standing there "petting" Tayson's head. Hayden says, while looking so sweetly at his brother, "Oh Tayson. He is not a puppy. He is just a human. He just has some blue on his head." I say, (holding my laughter back) "yes, he is a human. And that blue on his head is a vein. It's blood under his skin." He replies, still looking adoringly at Tayson, "yeah. It is blood. Baby's have blue blood."

This totally brought me back to the days when Tyke was a little baby. I was tucking Lexie in one night and I could see the wheels in her head just-a-spinnin'. I was excited to hear what she was about to say because she comes up with the most random things to say. She says to me, "Mom? When will Tyke become a human?" I said, "he is human, Lex." She says, "well, when will he have legs to run with and when can he play with us?" I said, "well, humans aren't like frogs. We don't start out as tadpoles and evolve into frogs. We are humans from the very beginning. We just grow and our bodies get stronger. Then we walk and run and play. But we are always human."

I just LOVE how the minds of children work. They are so funny!

That is funny. Wouldn't it be fascinating to see inside their minds for just a few minutes?
