Hairy Armpits

Tyke: Mom do you have hairy armpits?
Me: No.
Tyke: Why?
Me: Because I shave them.
Tyke: Does Dad have hairy armpits?
Me: Yes.
Tyke: Why?
Me: Because he is a big boy.
Tyke: Why don't I have hairy armpits?
Me: You will when you get big.
Tyke: But, MOM! I AM big!

Scrub a Dub 3 Kids in the Tub

After an 8 day vaca to the Oregon Coast we got home and all three kids had to get their sandy, little bums in the tub. Tyke does not like to put his head under the faucet to rinse out the conditioner. So, as I was doing so, Masi was trying to help by telling Tyke to "just relax, Bud. It's ok. Shhh shhh, calm down." I look over and Masi has Tyke's foot and is giving him a little foot rub to try and calm him down a bit. I couldn't contain myself and laughed out loud. She is so stinkin' CUTE!

Our Last Day in Paradise

July 10 Jett and I took turns staying in the condo with Masi, Remember? She had the flu. :o( Early that morning, while everyone was still sleeping, me and my mom and dad went to Downtown Cannon Beach. We went to breakfast then checked out the little shops and cool beach houses. We stopped at Bruce's Candy Store and let me tell you! It is the BEST candy store in America!!! Holy crap! Their salt water taffy is TO DIE FOR! After we finished walking around town we headed back to the condo. My parents packed up and left for Washington. Jett and I stayed.
The next day was our last day in Oregon. I was not ready to go home. I L O V E it there!! So, we all got up and loaded up the truck. Then we walked all the way down the beach to Haystack Rock. On our way to the rock, the tide was slowly coming in. As it rolled in, little baby crabs would wash onto the beach. As soon as the water went back out the little crap would burrow itself in the sand so fast! It was fun to watch and the kids LOVED it!
Here are some pics of our last day:

Tyke was posing like how his sisters do. Hahahah!

Tyke's Hulk Face. Scary!
The day was foggy and there was a lot of mist in the air. It was very pretty.
Jett and the kids having a race.
While we were walking along the beach, because it was low tide, there were a lot of sink holes in the sand. Some were big. Some were small. The kids were running and jumping in them. Despite my several warnings, Tyke jumped into one of the deep ones. He got soaking wet. Ugh! All the clothes were packed in the truck and it was cold out. So, we had to strip him down to his Superman Undies...
Tyke all wet. His puppy too. He had me pin this "cape" around the neck of the puppy. He is a super dog. Jett and Masi
Lexie enjoying her last day of playing in the ocean.
Once we got to Haystack Rock I was excited to see all the different sea life that attach themselves to the rocks. It was low tide so they were all out of water. It was amazing to see how fast the tide came in and soon they were all under the ocean once again. It's hard to see but this is a baby crab.Lexie and Masi standing in front of a rock with thousands of seashells stuck to it.I love all the caves!

Tillamook Cheese Factory

On our way to Cannon Beach, the next day, we stopped in Tillamook to check out the Cheese Factory.
Lexie Cow and Farmer Masi :o)
Tyke
Just making some cheese. Delish!
Masi Girl
After doing some tasting of the different cheeses we went and ate some lunch. It was yummy!! Grandma is putting in her order.
Let's Chow! Masi doesn't eat much and later turned down icecream. For those of us who know Masi, this is very out of her character. I can probably count on one hand the number of times in Masi's lifetime that she has turned anything down with sugar (sickness would be the reasoning behind it too). At this point, I'm hoping she's not getting what Lexie had on the way to Oregon. Remember? Barfing, ear grief, emergency room...etc??? Oh boy.
The trip to the Tillamook Cheese Factory was very informative and FUN!

Best Place in the WORLD!!!

Cannon Beach, Oregon is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. There is just something about this place that is so peaceful. It's so hard to explain but it's like you're in an alter world where everything is perfect. The smell of the salt in the air, the way the grey sky blends right into the blue ocean, the sounds of the waves, the beach, the huge rocks shooting right out of the ocean, the people, the feeling...indescribable.

The minute we checked into our condo we headed straight for the beach. The walk wasn't long, we stayed right on the beach. It was awesome! Once we were on the beach we got all set up for the fire. One of the many favorite things about Cannon Beach was sitting by the fire right on the beach every night. It was so cool once the sun was setting and the temperature was cooling off to get the fire going. Pretty soon it would be pitch black. All you could see were little orange flickers of lights all the way down the beach from all the fires. All you could hear was the sound of the waves coming in. It's like Magic.
If any of my kids are going to be beach bums when they grow up it will be Lexie. She L O V E S the beach!!! She embellishes every moment she has at the beach. I swear she has no body thermometer either. She will splash around in that ice cold ocean like she hasn't a care in the world! I love her free spirit. Such a carefree little girl. I wish I could be a little more like that. She has always been my little girl who will always take the time to smell the roses.
Lexie

The rocks were amazingThe Lighthouse in between these rocks was so cool. It stands alone on a rock out in the ocean.Hanging out by the fireOkay, now here are some crazy pics for ya! Jett is the goofiest person on the earth I swear. He stuck 2 marshmallows in his cheeks and was making us all laugh our faces off!!! Check these out:My Handsome DadJett and Tyke taking a walk down to the shoreline. Precious Moments. The sun setting behind the ocean. Nothing like it. My Mom and Dad coming back from their walk.Love it!So, we're all sitting around the fire and Masi informs me that she does not feel good. I had a feeling this was coming on back at the Tillamook Cheese Factory. But I'm hoping she just sits down, takes it easy, and gets feeling better... :o/"Mom," she tells me. " I really don't feel good." I tell her we'll head up to the condo soon. By this time I should really be listening to her. But I think I was in denial. I was loving the moment too much I couldn't leave. When Masi sais she is sick that means SHE IS SICK!!! No faking with this one. She does NOT lead on.This picture makes me feel so bad!! Right before we headed in I stood up and wanted to get one more picture of her. She tried so hard to smile pretty but she was getting sicker. Poor thing. I'm such a poop head!! Right after this picture she turned around and barfed all over the place!! Oh Masi!! I'm SO SORRY!!! I felt so bad!So, back to the condo we went.
After a bit, my mom came up to the condo and said she was done for the night. She said she would stay with Masi if I wanted to go back to the beach. HOW NICE!! I totally took advantage of that! I headed back right then! Don't worry, my sick child was bathed and in bed asleep by this time :o) so were Tyke and Lexie. YES!
I went back out and sat with my dad and Jett by the fire. We had a great time just relaxing by the fire and savoring every moment. This is one of my favorite times in Cannon Beach. It was so quite and peaceful.
