Happy Halloween!!!

Being die hard trick or treaters, my kids were so excited to get ready for the big night. We, first, hit the neighboring houses then we hop in the car and drive to other neighborhoods. We trick or treat until the kids are so tired and exhausted and want to go home. They absolutely LOVE it! We really lucked out again this year with the weather. The kids stayed warm and didn't have to bundle up too much. Yesssss!
So, Tyke made a last minute costume change as we were walking out the door to go Trick or Treating! I guess he was tired of being Darth Vader. What a silly boy!

We headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Simpson's to get some treats. The kids had fun checking out each others costumes. Here is Ashton, as Buzz Light Year, with Masi. Such cute kids!

Happy Halloween!!

Carving of The Pumpkins

This year I was not going to carve pumpkins. Jett was working out of town and I just did not want to deal with the mess of it all. What a scrooge I am!!! But!! Luckily, Jett got home so we went ahead with it. Yay! My kids just love to do it so I'm glad he made it home to help dig out the guts because that's the part I really hate doing the most. ;o)

Finally!

Masi has been dying to lose a tooth since Lexie lost hers 2 years ago. She is 7 years old and had never lost a tooth. When all her little kindergarten friends, last year, started losing their teeth Masi was feeling very left out. She just did not understand why everybody was losing their teeth but HER!!! My kids lose their teeth very late and usually end up having to go to the dentist to have them pulled! So, needless to say, she was THRILLED when she finally lost her first tooth. Woo hoo!!!

Two Sides to Every Story

A perfect example of how true the statement "there is always two sides to every story" rings true.

Lexie: Mom, Masi had to go into the office at dance today.
Me: What?! Why?
Lexie: Because she was being disruptive during dance.
Me: *thinking, "oh this girl is going to get it!"*

I holler for Masi to come here.

Me: Masi, did you get put in the office at dance today?
Masi: Yes. It was because Lexie was being so mean to me and it really hurt my feelings. So, Miss Whitney told me to come on into the office until I feel better.
Me: *thinking, "Well, what the heck? Why in the world is Lexie being mean to Masi at dance? Nothing makes me madder than when my girls are mean to each other...especially in PUBLIC!"*

I holler for Lexie to join me and Masi.

Me: Lexie, why were you being mean to Masi at dance?
Lexie: I wasn't!!
Me: Ok. Lexie, what's your side to the story?
Lexie: I was trying to dance and Masi was standing next to me. She kept trying to talk to me and I would tell her to stop because I didn't want to get into trouble. So, finally, I just ignored her. Then Masi was getting mad at me for ignoring her so Miss Whitney said she could go into the office because she was upset.
Me: Masi?
Masi: Well...she wouldn't talk to me.
Me: You know better than to talk during class.

Then Masi got the lecture and off to her room she went to do some thinking. Then I sat back and did a little reflecting myself. How funny that there's stories are so different! And how crazy does this situation describe their personalities to a "T". Lexie: a pleaser and obedient. Masi: a chatter box and has a bit of a problem with authority. I couldn't help but laugh. Oh the joy of raising kids. :o)

Me: Masi, time for bath.
Masi: What?! Why? I'm playing!
Me: Hurry quick then you can play some more.
Masi: *huge sigh* Mom, I'm not even dirty! I just stink.

Baby Shower for Tayson

Lisa and I threw a baby shower for Lori. It was so fun to get together and celebrate the new life to come!!! Grandma Robinson, Lori's neighbor, Aunt Vicki, Lori's mother in law Sue, and Staci We had a raffle for these super cute watches that Tenae's mom made.

Lisa made some delicious homemade chicken noodle soup and Tenae's mom made some mystery soup (it wasn't really a mystery, I just can't remember the name of it). It was, however, also delish. So, we all ate some dinner and rolls before the festivities.
