Lexie: Mom, Masi had to go into the office at dance today.
Me: What?! Why?
Lexie: Because she was being disruptive during dance.
Me: *thinking, "oh this girl is going to get it!"*
I holler for Masi to come here.
Me: Masi, did you get put in the office at dance today?
Masi: Yes. It was because Lexie was being so mean to me and it really hurt my feelings. So, Miss Whitney told me to come on into the office until I feel better.
Me: *thinking, "Well, what the heck? Why in the world is Lexie being mean to Masi at dance? Nothing makes me madder than when my girls are mean to each other...especially in PUBLIC!"*
I holler for Lexie to join me and Masi.
Me: Lexie, why were you being mean to Masi at dance?
Lexie: I wasn't!!
Me: Ok. Lexie, what's your side to the story?
Lexie: I was trying to dance and Masi was standing next to me. She kept trying to talk to me and I would tell her to stop because I didn't want to get into trouble. So, finally, I just ignored her. Then Masi was getting mad at me for ignoring her so Miss Whitney said she could go into the office because she was upset.
Me: Masi?
Masi: Well...she wouldn't talk to me.
Me: You know better than to talk during class.
Then Masi got the lecture and off to her room she went to do some thinking. Then I sat back and did a little reflecting myself. How funny that there's stories are so different! And how crazy does this situation describe their personalities to a "T". Lexie: a pleaser and obedient. Masi: a chatter box and has a bit of a problem with authority. I couldn't help but laugh. Oh the joy of raising kids. :o)

Very true, Only my kids usually have a totally different story and then I have the job of trying to tell who is telling the truth. Why can't they just always be honest....so much easier.
