Does PMS start at age 8????

This morning I had a house full. My 3 kids, Lisa's 2, and Lori's 2. 7 kids ages 8, 6, 5, 3, 3, 3, and 1. Masi and Ady were in the bath. Lexie woke up wondering what all the commotion was and came upstairs to investigate.

Lexie: Masi, why are you and Ady in the bath (slight irritation in the voice and a slight look of annoyance on her face. Lexie IS NOT a morning person)?

Masi: Because we might stink if we don't take a bath (smiling, bright eyed, and bushy tailed, Masi IS a morning person)!

Me: That's right, Lexie. And you're next.

Lexie: What?! Why? (Her morning puffed eyes widened.)

Masi: So YOU don't stink. We stink after we danced all day yesterday. (They were at a dance competition ALL DAY yesterday.)

Lexie stands there for a few moments...sniffs her arm.

Lexie: I don't smell anything. Rolls her eyes, spins on her heels, and walks away incredibly annoyed she woke up to such annoying little kids in the house.

Me: You can't smell yourself, Lexie. You need a bath.

Lexie: Whatever. (Halfway down the hall by now.)

Cute. Real cute.

Come on...she is NOT old enough for PMS. Or is she??? She definitely acts like a hormonal teenager sometimes! Ugh. I AM NOT ready for this...

Yesterday was Lexie and Masi's 1st Dance Competition and let me tell ya THEY ROCKED THE HOUSE!!!! They took 1st in all 4 numbers!!!! I am so proud of them. We were there all day and they were such little troupers. Never complained even once! Good job Lexie and Masi!

It's ME! Tyke!

Alyx and Elli were over visiting from Boise one night. Tyke was so excited he could NOT sit still!! He ran and got his Spider Man costume on (mask and all) and ran downstairs to where Alyx and Elli were playing. Once he got down there he started showing the girls all his Spider Man moves. And let me tell ya...he was getting. into. it. Alyx and Elli didn't know what to do so they stood there and just stared wide eyed at this crazy man! After about 30 seconds of karate chopping and kicking the air he sped over to the girls with lightening speed, (they were across the room from him) lifted his mask, and said, "It's just ME. Tyke."

He really thought that they were thinking he was the real Spider Man! Good thing he ran over to them to clarify. He is so silly. Awwww...he makes me laugh!

You Won't Like Me When I'm Angry...

Tyke has a new favorite toy. It's The Hulk and when you squeeze his legs together it raises up his arms and when you release his legs his arms slam down while he speaks. He says things like, "You're making me angry, you won't like me when I'm angry!" Having said this...Jett, Tyke, and I went to cut Jett's hair. I thought while we were there I could cut Tyke's as well. Now just for the record, Tyke DOES NOT like to get his hair cut. When I was done with Jett I turned to Tyke

Me: Hey, Buddy, should we cut your hair too?

Tyke got this crazy look on his face then furrowed his eyebrows

Tyke: No! If you cut my hair I might get angry and turn into The Hulk!

Whelp with that I thanked him for the fair warning and did not cut his hair. Needless to say I was not up for The Hulk!
Tyke LOVES his Hulk!

To My Mom

My Mom is a very special person to me. She has the kindness heart of anyone I know. She would carry any one's burden just to make life a little bit easier. She loves all of her 6 children more than anything in this world and would do anything for them. I have so many fond memories growing up. I remember how soft and gentle she always was. She was so patient and caring with us. One of my favorite memories is when she would put all of us kids to bed then go into the living room and play the piano. I loved falling asleep to her beautiful music. As time went on and we became teenagers I remember her saying that throughout the teenage years it's very important to keep a sense of humor. She somehow managed to keep all of us in one piece as hormones raged with me and my 3 sisters!!! In my adult life I am so grateful for her wise advise and help with my kids. She gave me super tips when I had my first born. I remember her telling me not to pick her up with every grunt and groan. When she's hungry she will let me know. I am SO grateful for that advise. Especially throughout the years as my friends have had babies of their own and I see them struggle with them sleeping throughout the night. Even as toddlers!! She taught me the importance of self pacifying!!! She is now not only my mother but a great friend. Thank you for all you do. I love you with all my heart. Happy Birthday, Mom!With AlyxPlaying "Freeze Dance"!

I love this picture. For Valentine's Day Lexie picked out a bouquet of flowers for Grandma. As you can see she picked wilted ones. There were ones that were not dying but Lexie insisted on these ones. She thought they were beautiful and perfect for her. My Mom LOVED them! Parents Just Don't Understand!

It was HIP HOP weekend on Z103 this weekend. So every time we loaded up in the car and headed to wherever we were going we turned up the radio and jammed to the HIP HOP songs. Well...on the way home from the movie today Parents Just Don't Understand came on. I remember LOVING this Fresh Prince (Will Smith) HIT back in the 80's. Lexie really took to it. SHE LOVED IT! She asked me the name and I told her, "Parents Just Don't Understand". She sat for about 10 seconds in deep thought then said matter-of-fact, "Well, that is very true".

Happy Birthday, Ady!

Ady turned 5 on March 1st. She is getting so big it's hard to believe. I still remember when she was born and what a crazy day that was. With all the problems she had she sure came into this world with a bang. And she shows us still today what a little firecracker she is! For such the petite thing that she is, she has a BIG personality that we all love so much. One of my favorite things about Ady is how she has such an old soul. She makes me laugh every time when she tells me how "lovely" my shoes are or how "lovely" my house looks. She is so funny. I also love how she names her little animals names like "Darla". I am so happy to have Ady as my niece. She is very sweet and I can't imagine our lives without her in it. Happy Birthday, Ady!
