I took the kids to the Halloween Boutique today to pick out some costumes. Lexie is going to be a maid, Masi is going to be a country girl (it looks like Strawberry Shortcake), and Tyke got a Darth Vader costume about a week ago while we were at the fabric store.
We got home and they instantly put their costumes on then traded to try out the others. Masi is sitting there with Lexie's Maid costume on.
Me: Masi, you need to get up and put your shoes away and while your at it ...(I rambled off some other orders).
Masi: What?! Why do I have to put everything away? *looked me dead in the eye with her matter of fact tone* Oh. I know. Because I have this Maid costume on. Well, I am NOT really a Maid!!!

Whatever you do, don't ask her to clean!!! That is cute.
So funny. Your kids crack me up. Avery has the same response when I ask her to do something "why do I have to do eeeeeeverything?" Guess its the little princess syndrome? :)
